Z-war correspondent Romanov explained how the Russian Armed Forces once decided to check the "paintovers" (that is, territories that the Russian Armed Forces color in on maps but do not actually control, like this, for example).
Two colonels arrived at the Kostiantynivka sector. They found a discrepancy between the real and the reported line of contact of 17 km.
What is 17 km in the current realities of the front? Well, for context, it took the Russian army a year to cover 10 km from Bakhmut to Chasiv Yar. And it took the Russian Armed Forces a year and a half to cover the 12 km from Toretsk to Kostiantynivka itself. That is roughly the scale of it.
But that is not all.
After finding the discrepancy, the local command could think of nothing better than sending 40 men to storm the painted-over section, including UAV operators. All 40 men were finished off within 2 hours🤷♂️
