🔥Ukrainian service members now receive 100,000 hryvnias (160,000 rubles) for each captured Russian Armed Forces serviceman.

While the Russian command orders its soldiers not to take Ukrainians prisoner and to execute prisoners of war, in Ukraine the replenishment of the exchange fund is encouraged.

The return of Ukrainian Defenders and civilian hostages from Russian captivity is Ukraine’s absolute priority. Therefore, taking Russian POWs alive for subsequent exchange is an important task for Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Ukrainian soldiers regularly risk their lives to bring Russian POWs out from the front line alive, because they understand: each of them makes it possible to bring Ukrainians home from Russian dungeons. Thanks to this, since June 2023 Russian servicemen have consistently ended up in Ukrainian captivity more often than Ukrainian soldiers in Russian captivity.

We remind you that even when Ukrainian soldiers want to take the enemy prisoner alive, doing so during battle is extremely difficult and dangerous. Therefore, we urge all Russian servicemen not to risk their lives and to surrender in safe and controlled conditions through the “I Want to Live” project.

The project has already conducted more than 400 successful operations to evacuate servicemen who contacted the chatbot across the front line. Everyone who voluntarily surrenders through the “I Want to Live” project gets the right to choose: remain safe in captivity until the end of hostilities, or return to Russia as part of one of the POW exchanges.
