In Moscow, five more people detained after a Communist Party march were arrested or fined. Two of them say they were going to the zoo
Moscow’s Tagansky District Court yesterday imposed arrests and fines on five people detained after the Communist Party action on October 4, SOTAvision reports. They were found guilty of taking part in an unauthorized march to the memorial for those killed during the storming of the White House in 1993.
Vladimir Bodyashkin received 15 days of arrest, while Kamilla Fetiskina and Darya Korolkova received 10 days each. Tatyana Ustinova was fined 25,000 rubles, and her daughter Maria Ratova 20,000.
Ustinova and Ratova stated in court that they were going to the zoo and ended up in the crowd by chance. According to Ustinova, her daughter gave testimony that she had shouted slogans under pressure.
The woman also said that she is suspected of having a rare genetic disease, and that for pain she takes prescription drugs that she was not given. An ambulance had to be called to the court hearing. Ratova also said that she was going to the zoo with her mother and that her mother needs supervision because of her illness.
The protocols say that the rally itself on Krasnopresnenskaya Zastava Square had been approved by the authorities, but the march to the memorial afterward had not. The court refused to summon the police officers who carried out the detention or request footage from their body cameras.
🔵On October 4, an officially approved Communist Party rally was held in Moscow in memory of the events of October 1993 during the shelling of the White House. As Astra wrote, detentions began after participants started chanting “Down with the tsar!” and other protest slogans. According to the Communist Party, a total of 65 people were detained. Yesterday, the Tverskoy District Court imposed arrest and a fine on two rally participants.
