In Moscow, Yabloko leader Nikolai Rybakov put up a new temporary plaque on the building where the journalist lived and was killed. People were able to lay flowers there.

At the same time, residents of the building called the police, the Telegram channel “Slovo zashchite” reports. According to RusNews, a police van drove up to the building; officers stopped people carrying flowers, but released them almost immediately.

🔹In St. Petersburg, members of Yabloko laid flowers at the Solovetsky Stone, a monument to victims of political repression on Troitskaya Square, in memory of the murdered journalist.

🔹In Irkutsk, on the 20th anniversary of Politkovskaya’s murder, concerned activist Vladislav laid flowers near Trud Stadium, RusNews writes. When Vladislav returned to the site of the spontaneous memorial, it turned out that some other concerned citizens had also laid flowers.

🔹In Omsk, a spontaneous memorial to Anna Politkovskaya appeared near the memorial to victims of political repression: a portrait of Anna was put up there and flowers were laid.

🔹Novaya Gazeta has issued a commemorative postage stamp for Anna Politkovskaya. Politkovskaya’s photo is done in the style used for portraits of Nobel laureates. The editorial office is convinced that if the journalist had not been killed, she would have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
