Mobile internet shutdowns in Moscow ahead of May 9: new details
🔹A Kommersant source in the telecom market confirmed reports that mobile internet shutdowns are planned in Moscow on May 5, 7, and 9 for “security purposes.”
🔹Another source told the outlet that “there will be restrictions, but their scale is still unclear.” According to this source, the shutdowns will only be on May 7 and 9.
🔹According to information from Post magazine’s source in the government, communications in Moscow will be jammed “to one degree or another throughout the May holidays,” but not everywhere:
Mainly the whole center. It will be roughly the same as in March, when almost nothing worked in the area around the Garden Ring.
The source claims that now the security services can even shut off communications on their own, without instructions to mobile operators. He does not know any details about white lists or SMS:
If your mobile service doesn’t work in the center, it’s obvious there won’t be internet either. It doesn’t matter what kinds of lists there are, “white” or “gray.”
