Khabarovsk governor says it is impossible to obtain MRI machines because of the war. A plant that could help with supplies is making body armor and drones

Khabarovsk Krai Governor Dmitry Demeshin said that it is not possible to quickly make up for the shortage of missing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines because of the war, as "Verstka" noted.

During a report to local deputies, the head of the region noted that an enterprise that could quickly supply them without using budget funds is now "helping the SVO."

"As for bringing in social assistance from outside, right now our priority is helping the SVO. That's the truth. Once this story goes away, we will ask those associated with Amursk, [the company] 'Polymetal,' and they will buy this medication [meaning the MRI machine]. But right now we are asking 'Polymetal' for body armor and drones," Demeshin said.

Regional legislative assembly deputy Sergei Bezdenezhnykh spoke about the shortage of MRI machines in the region. According to him, residents are forced to wait months for scans or turn to paid services. For example, residents of Amursk have to travel 50 kilometers on bad roads to reach medical facilities with MRI machines.
