The Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that the Netherlands extradite nine ICC representatives who issued an arrest warrant for Putin.
Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office sent requests to the Netherlands and a number of other countries for the detention and extradition of nine representatives of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Among them are the court’s former president Piotr Hofmański and former prosecutor Karim Khan.
At Khan’s request, the ICC issued arrest warrants in 2023 for Putin and children’s ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova. In 2025, a Russian court sentenced ICC representatives in absentia to prison terms of up to 15 years.
