The drills involved 17 mobilization officials from Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Rostov regions, Kalmykia, as well as Crimea, part of Donetsk Region, and Luhansk Region, which are under Russian control.

The organizers of the event said that “mobilization preparation is a peacetime process” and that such drills are conducted annually according to plan.

A report on the drills was published on the social media accounts of the Volzhsky administration, but was later deleted without explanation, RusNews уточняет.

Rumors of a possible new wave of mobilization in Russia have intensified in recent months amid heavy losses at the front and a shrinking number of new volunteers. The authorities have not officially confirmed that such plans exist.
