Moscow Court Sends Sapa Editor-in-Chief Alina Dzhikayeva to Pretrial Detention

Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky Court arrested Alina Dzhikayeva on charges of giving a bribe, the Moscow courts press service reports.

The court also placed under house arrest the police officer to whom, according to investigators, Dzhikayeva gave the bribe.

🔵“Sapa” is an independent outlet covering events in North Ossetia. On April 14, security officers searched the outlet’s editorial office in Vladikavkaz. That same day, Sapa’s editor-in-chief and a police operations officer were detained.

According to investigators, in 2020 Dzhikayeva received from the police officer, in exchange for a bribe, “information about incidents and the operational situation” in Dagestan and North Ossetia.
