The domain of the “Max” messenger was labeled as “spyware.” After the same label, the Telega app was removed from the App Store

Cloudflare hosting provider labeled the domain of the “national messenger” Max as “spyware,” according to data from the Cloudflare Radar service.

At the same time, the domain card indicates that it has a TLS certificate confirming the project’s authenticity and used for a secure HTTPS connection. The messenger is still available in the App Store and Google Play.

The appearance of the same label likely became one of the reasons for the removal from the App Store of the unofficial Telegram client, the Telega app, which gained popularity in Russia amid blocks on the messenger itself. Soon after the app disappeared from the App Store, it emerged that Cloudflare had labeled two domains associated with the Telega messenger as spyware. This was followed by the revocation of the TLS certificate as well.
