Former Deputy Natural Resources Minister left Russia immediately after his dismissal, Vedomosti reports

Three sources told the outlet this: one close to the investigation and two in government structures.

According to them, after Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order on April 22 dismissing Denis Butsaev "at his own request," the former official "promptly left Russia via Minsk."

Earlier, anonymous channels reported that a criminal fraud case had been opened against the administrative director of the Russian Environmental Operator (the company operating the "garbage reform," which Butsaev headed in 2019) and the organization's top managers. A Vedomosti source also confirmed this information.

Resignation First, Departure Right After

After dismissal, Butsaev promptly left through Minsk.

His own request handled the timing.
