Karol Nawrocki Has Stripped Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle
Karol Nawrocki has, after all, stripped Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle.
I will put it this way: during this war, Putin has been given many gifts. This is not the biggest of them. Trump and Orbán have “gifted” much more. Against that background, Nawrocki’s act is just petty sabotage. For now.
That is if one approaches it not emotionally, but pragmatically.
True, even pragmatically there is little pleasant about it.
I said “for now” for a reason. Although PiS gradually began losing ground last autumn to Donald Tusk’s Civic Coalition (KO), Poland has a small surprise in the form of two “Confederations” (“Confederation Liberty and Independence” and “Confederation of the Polish Crown,” KKP) — those are the far-right pro-Russian parties I talked about in this video.
And if PiS decides to form a coalition with them in the parliamentary elections in November 2027, that flips the board. (Tusk has a coalition with the left, currently 41% between them; PiS with the “Confederations” has 49%).
It is impossible to predict what the situation will be by November 2027.
The political climate is the kind of thing that is not only unpredictable, but also tends to change.
Who could have predicted that Laura Loomer, who had spread Russian propaganda for years — and the most venomous kind — would take Ukraine’s side?
And if even MAGA people are changing shoes in the right direction, then one could say about anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Polish society: “This too shall pass.”
The only issue is that Ukraine is living through a terrible war, while Poland is not. And during a terrible war, even petty sabotage is felt with triple the pain. I do not know how to make Poles understand that.
Petty Sabotage During a Major War
Nawrocki stripped Zelensky of Poland’s Order of the White Eagle.
Allies can hand Moscow gifts too.
