The war… At the beginning, like everyone else, I thought it did not concern me.

I am 24. Last month my stepfather was killed in the war. My younger brother was left without his only friend, support, and most importantly — his father. My younger brother’s tears are an enormous pain. He so dreamed that his dad would come back and that in the summer they would go fishing with a boat. And what now? Another traumatized person… I will try to be a support for my brother, but it will not change anything.

All week I have been waking up to the sounds of air defenses at work. We live in constant stress; antidepressant sales are number one.

But for the fourth year now, I still cannot understand or answer the question: why was all this started, why? Why do we need other people’s territories if beyond the Moscow Ring Road we have slums and ghettos?

Can we change anything? I do not think so. We are so tired and so intimidated that we simply no longer have the strength for our own opinion and voice. There is emptiness inside; there is not even hope anymore… And it is so funny that people really wanted to change something, voting, for example, for Boris Nadezhdin, standing in huge lines — zero result.

Everything has been bought, and we are just pawns.
