In the summer of 2024, the woman was beaten by her former boyfriend. She suffered a fractured knee and arm, and a torn ACL. The man filmed the beating on his phone and did not let anyone call an ambulance. When the abuse ended, the victim still managed to contact medics and the police.

That same evening, the attacker was taken to the station and then released without being questioned. The woman was refused the opening of a criminal case due to "lack of elements of a crime". In the fall of last year, the department handling the victim's case was disbanded, and the materials were handed over to other security officers.

The woman complained about police inaction to the Nevsky District Court, which granted the complaint. Soon afterward, the victim received an official reply from the police. The file name contained the woman's surname and a profane insult: "ебанько."

The woman continues to seek the opening of a case, while noting that the statute of limitations on the incident expires in the fall of this year, which may affect the дальнейшее расследование.
