Authorities banned the import into Russia of equipment that receives signals from international satellite communications systems. Including Starlink

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a ban on the import of electronics that receive signals from foreign communications satellites, including dual-use equipment.

As the decree says, the ban was introduced "for the purposes of protecting national security." It will apply to satellite phones and equipment for communication via satellite communications. The definition in the decree covers Starlink terminals.

💜Earlier, Verstka reported how Russian military personnel get around Starlink blocks with the help of sham Ukrainian citizens.

The devices are first delivered to Ukraine for verification and activation. Citizens or legal entities from Ukraine register the terminals in their own names. And after that, Starlink is sent to Russia through Europe or Crimea.
