Zyuganov denies proposing to seize citizens’ deposits, calling them “sacred”

The CPRF leader told the outlet Pod’yom.

“Nobody is putting the question that way. Citizens’ deposits are sacred. 130 trillion is exactly three budgets. Money must work. Everyone knows this. It must be invested in development, health, the economy, new technologies, and citizens’ education,” the publication quotes Gennady Zyuganov as saying.

In his view, money is now “dead weight” amid a high key rate, and against this background “only oligarchates and thieving officials are getting fat.” The CPRF leader proposed investing money “in victory, in development, in people, and so on.”

Alexander Yushchenko, head of the CPRF Central Committee press service, said that “categorically, there was no talk of seizing deposits”: “What was discussed was an economic model in which it should be profitable to invest money in production and receive profit from it.”

🔵Earlier, speaking about Russians’ bank deposits, Zyuganov proposed to Putin that “in wartime conditions” he “immediately find” about 30 trillion rubles.
