Vladimir Region governor urged residents to reduce car trips and buy gasoline only in “necessary amounts”

Against the background of a fuel crisis, the Vladimir Region government held an operational meeting to discuss gasoline shortages at filling stations, Governor Alexander Avdeev said:

Late last week, some companies recorded logistics problems. Motorists reacted with a rush of demand. As a result, even at gas stations where fuel deliveries were proceeding according to plan, queues appeared and prices began to rise.

Until the situation normalizes, Avdeev wrote, gasoline will be provided first to emergency and utility services, public transport, food suppliers, garbage trucks and farmers. The authorities also plan to separately compile a list of small farms that need help with fuel.

I urge citizens, where possible, to reduce trips by private vehicle and purchase gasoline only in the amounts currently necessary.

The calmer residents’ reaction to temporary difficulties, the faster it will be possible to return the situation to normal,

the governor said.
