Russian conscripts continue to be actively coerced into signing contracts, and over the past year the number of conscript soldiers wanting to desert has increased severalfold.

According to the “Go by the Forest” project, which helps Russians flee the army, about 40% of current requests about evacuation are connected to conscripts who were forced to sign a contract. These requests come both from the servicemen themselves and from their relatives.

“We are talking specifically about cases where a person is ready to desert. A year ago there were noticeably fewer such requests, about 10-15%,” the project explained.

Conscripts are traditionally promised that they will serve somewhere in the rear, in a unit from which they will never be sent to the war. They are persuaded that a contract will bring only benefits, at the very least more money. Those who do not give in to persuasion are beaten and forced by violence. In every case, it all ends the same way: being sent to the “SVO.”

A bleak trend is emerging for Russian young people: having stripped them of their future, the “Motherland” has resolutely taken up the direct extermination of yesterday’s schoolchildren and students. All of this, let us recall, is for the whims of one insane old man with faded eyes.
