"A guy gave his word, a guy kept it." Lavrov on Russia’s position on the “Anchorage agreements”
“Our conscience is clear. As you know, a guy’s word: a guy gave his word, a guy kept it. We said we were ready. On the other side, that approach has already been modified, judging by the quote from [U.S. Secretary of State Marco] Rubio,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters, commenting on Rubio’s statements.
The day before, after meeting with Lavrov, the U.S. secretary of state said that previous attempts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine had not worked. He said they failed because Kyiv did not agree to certain proposals that “were unacceptable to Ukraine at the time.”

Failed Talks Get Street Code Again
Lavrov answered on Anchorage with street-code talk and a clean conscience.
Failed talks got the tough-guy phrasing again.
