These are photos of messages from the phone of Chukwuebuka Joseph (25.10.1994), a Nigerian citizen who was likely killed and whose phone was delivered to us from the combat zone. In the messages, Joseph tries to get back from his recruiter the hundreds of dollars he spent on tickets and a visa, which he was supposed to be reimbursed for. Predictably, no one was planning to return any money to him.

At the same time, the recruiter asks the Nigerian whether he can "bring friends" and recommend someone else to sign a contract. He is offered "bonus payments" for this.

But of course that is not where the main money is. There are recruiters who profit both from the funds paid to them by the Russian Ministry of Defense for each foreigner they recruit and by taking money from the foreigners themselves. Yes, many of those recruited for a quick death in Ukraine also pay their recruiters out of their own pockets.

Foreigners sign contracts with real legal entities in Russia, under which the recruiter provides them with "services" to help them sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. For this "work," the foreigner is charged 1.5 million rubles, which is equal to the one-time payment that the Russian Ministry of Defense pays foreigners for signing a contract. Only afterward do the foreigners realize that these "services" are essentially fraud and that it is foolish to pay extra just to go to war.

Judging by the messages, the Nigerian was also recruited through such a Russian legal entity, supposedly a law company called "Otvet," registered in Rostov-on-Don. Of course, no real law company actually exists there; it is simply a sole proprietor with a settlement account for receiving money both from the Russian Ministry of Defense and from those recruited.

Once again, we warn foreign citizens against thoughtless trips to Russia. Not only will you not earn anything, but you will also end up in debt even before you are killed or maimed.
