🤣🎤The performer of “Mother Earth” fell for a trick by Israeli pranksters. She and Z-bloggers shared links to tracks by an anti-war art group that parodied that and other “patriots’” songs in Hebrew

Tatyana Kurtukova, performer of the Z-hit “Mother Earth,” reposted on her Instagram a video thanking her “for an incredibly powerful song” that is supposedly “very loved in Israel and even sung in Hebrew.” Putin fans living abroad regularly send her such messages. This time, however, the video turned out to be a prank.

📍As “MO” learned, the message was recorded by Nika Feinberg, lead singer of the Israeli group Sektor, which mocks authoritarianism at its concerts and speaks out against the war. In April, at a concert in Jerusalem attended by Ukrainians and anti-war Russians, the group performed “Mother Earth” in Hebrew. Feinberg sang the song in a mocking manner, wrapped in an Israeli flag, and in May released a music video for her cover. The concert recording was posted on Instagram to create the illusion in the Z-community that the propaganda hit was successful in Israel.

📍First, Z-bloggers fell for the prank. Z-blogger Alex Parker accused “Jewish show-offs” of plagiarism. The creator of “Male State” and war supporter Vladislav Pozdnyakov also took the video at face value and began praising it. “I always said Jews are our brothers. Nice to watch,” he wrote.

📍Then Kurtukova herself took the bait. She shared Feinberg’s message, posting an ad for “Mother Earth” in Hebrew to her Instagram stories for 750,000 people. The link attached to the video Kurtukova reposted leads to Sektor’s account.

📍The same account has published an anti-war cover of a song by “Sektor Gaza” with the words “Let us be dirty, hungry, ragged, hoy! But we are fed up to our ears with a war of extermination!” The name “Leonid Ilyich” in the final line is replaced with “Vladimir Vladimirovich.”

🏆During the war years, Kurtukova became a star singer: for her patriotic hit she received Golden Gramophone awards, MUZ-TV awards and ZHARA Music Awards. During the May celebrations, she sang “Mother” at the Kremlin Palace at the “Songs of Victory” concert, where Z-performers Shaman, Gagarina and Marshal also took part.
