Yabloko party deputy chair Maxim Kruglov was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony in a military “fakes” case

Mediazona reports the decision of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court.

In his final statement, the politician thanked the court for the correctness of the case’s examination, for openness and publicity — all his friends and colleagues were able to attend. He also noted that his motivation throughout his life had been love for his country.

“I believe in the country’s future. I believe that Russia will achieve what I am talking about — it will be a peaceful, prosperous country. A country respected by its neighbors, not feared by them. A country where one can disagree,” he noted.

The case against Kruglov was opened because of two posts in his Telegram channel: one about the killings in Bucha, and another about Ukrainian civilians who died during hostilities. The posts were published in April 2022; Kruglov was detained on October 1, 2025.
