Deputy Justice Minister Oleg Sviridenko said that people designated by Russian authorities as “foreign agents” use gratuitous transactions to “avoid the format of using a special account.”

The Justice Ministry said that income may reach “foreign agents” through third parties, and therefore the ministry plans to further refine legislation regulating the mechanism of “special accounts.”

🔵The law on “special accounts” for “foreign agents” was adopted in December 2024. It effectively bans people assigned this status from receiving income from royalties in Russia, rent, real-estate sales, and dividends — all funds must be transferred to a “special account.”
